Web 2.0 capable internet experience for fixed and mobile operators
US-based O3b Networks has announced that it will begin deployment of a new high capacity backhaul infrastructure for Galaxy Wireless Communications to provide high-speed internet connectivity to its subscriber base in Nigeria.
The deal is a multi-year contract with Galaxy Wireless Communications that will support its G-MAX Broadband service, providing IP connectivity and broadband wireless services on its WiMAX network.
According to O3b Networks, this contract will enable Galaxy Wireless to deploy domestically and internationally an IP backbone network, known as the G-MAXCLOUD, with initial scalable bandwidth in excess of 2Gbps to serve fixed and mobile operators, enterprises and internet service providers with an ultra low latency, Web 2.0 capable internet experience.
Gerald Nwosu, CEO of Galaxy Wireless, said: O3b Networks is providing much needed capacity with a price and quality of service guarantee that will forever change the landscape of affordable internet access in Africa. Combined with our state of the art G-MAXCLOUD proposed for the entire country especially un-served and underserved areas, Galaxy Wireless Communications will remain at the cutting edge of secure, ubiquitous, high quality affordable internet access.
