Motorola, Datamax equip Interstate Batteries' mobility services

How will Interstate improve route accounting productivity

The enterprise mobility business of Motorola and Datamax-O'Neil, a subsidiary of Dover, together with Systems Application Engineering have announced that Interstate Batteries has deployed an enterprise mobility service throughout its network of nearly 300 distributors.

Interstate Batteries is a privately held group of companies that supply batteries, related electrical power-source products and distribution services.

Interstate Batteries selected Motorola's WAN-enabled MC9090 mobile computers and O'Neil mobile MicroFlash 4t (MF4T) printers to connect to Interstate's route management system to help improve route accounting productivity, field operations, field communications and inventory management.

Equipped with Bluetooth and signature capture capabilities, the MC9090 mobile computers have provided operational efficiencies enabling route managers to download dealer information and service requirements while simultaneously uploading invoices into the company's network, reducing a 30-minute process to just one to two minutes. The mobile O'Neil MF4T printers have also streamlined the invoicing and receipt process, according to Motorola.
