CBR Staff Writer Published 16 February 2012

It aligns IT functions and services closely with business needs

Application Delivery Networking firm F5 Networks has released BIG-IP version 11 software that accelerates provisioning of services on an application-by-application basis.

BIG-IP v11 aligns IT functions and services closely with business needs, enables better visibility and reporting of IT resource utilisation.

The new software offers integrated access control services, web application firewall, and new DNS infrastructure offload and scalability functions to mitigate attacks.

The software provides IT teams with visibility into all infrastructure dependencies for particular application services.

F5 Product Development CTO and senior vice-president Karl Triebes said BIG-IP v11's application control plane architecture aligns application control, visibility and manageability and allows additional services to be added on demand as current conditions require.
