Dialog launches new IPTV service in Poland

CBR Staff Writer Published 09 March 2009

Scopus Eldorado network management system to help Dialog engineers maintain consistent, quality transmissions for 24 channels

Dialog Telecom, an independent fixed line operator, has launched its new IPTV service in Poland using a video distribution network based on video networking services from Scopus Video Networks.

According to Scopus, at the core of Dialog's new IPTV video distribution network is the Scopus Eldorado network management system (NMS), which offers redundancy and a centralized view of the entire network to simplify troubleshooting and help Dialog engineers maintain consistent, quality transmissions for 24 channels.

Scopus has said that its IRD-2900 series integrated receiver decoders receive satellite video feeds carrying both Polish and international content.

Scopus UE-9000 encoders then provide local content encoding for distribution of the video to viewers' homes over IP. The IPTV network was installed by Satlan, a systems integrator in Poland.

Piotr Mazurkiewicz, president of Dialog Telecom, said: The reliability and high performance of the Scopus equipment have given us a true competitive advantage as we bring our triple-play offering to the market. Another large advantage is the availability of Scopus' local integration partner, Satlan, who delivered the technology components and got the system up and running very quickly.
