Cisco unveils new products for small companies

Claims to improve productivity and manage the needs of small businesses

Cisco has announced new products, service and support for small companies which claim to improve productivity while minimising the time spent on managing technology.

Part of new services includes additions to the Cisco Small Business Pro series which is designed to build, install and manage systems that support the technology needs of small businesses.

The new Cisco Small Business Pro includes the ESW 500 series switches that claim to enhance small business productivity and responsiveness to customers by helping eliminate network downtime and prevent business disruptions. It also includes the SPA8800 IP Telephony gateway which enables customers to connect their Open Source IP PBX to existing analogue phones and fax machines.

The company also introduced the PVC300 IP camera, an IP video surveillance system to its Small Business series. In addition, they have also added WebEx PhoneConnect, TimeCardView and Single Number Reach capabilities to its Smart Business Communications System with the release of SBCS Release 1.5.

Cisco also unveiled a new Cisco Small Business Pro Service that is expected to provide small businesses with three years of technical support and coverage for Cisco Small Business Pro services.

The Cisco ESW 500 Series Switches range in price from $659 to $3,299 and are supported by the Cisco Small Business Support Center. The SPA8800 IP Telephony Gateway is listed at $600 and PVC300 IP Camera is listed at $794 with regional variations.
