Installs end-to-end business communications service in partnership with T-Systems in Darmstadt

According to Alcatel-Lucent, a special feature of the Darmstadtium's network will be its direct virtual private network link to the scientific network of the University of Technology and the Fraunhofer Institute in Darmstadt.

The Alcatel-Lucent architected solution encompasses its OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server, IP/MPLS and ethernet-based solutions including the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 service router for IP routing and ethernet aggregation, the OmniStack 6850 that supports 10Mbps, 10Mbps and 1Gbps, and the OmniSwitch and OmniAccess WLAN platforms for intelligent switching and routing services.

T-Systems is Deutsche Telekom`s business customer brand which provides network-centric information and communications technology (ICT) services – ranging from data center operations and global services based on the Internet Protocol, to the development and management of applications.

Andreas Lendner, vice-president for enterprise sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Alcatel-Lucent, said: We're delighted to help establish the darmstadtium as a science, business and cultural hub for Darmstadt. This leading-edge event center will benefit tremendously from our expertise and innovative IP-based voice and data communications solutions which provide the technology necessary to bring together all facets of the darmstadtium community.
